Clap music theatre ensemble
Clap was a small scale music theatre group dedicated to creating music theatre programmes adaptable for performance in concert halls and any other spaces that would have us. Formed after successful premieres at the university of Cass, Andante Cantabile and Dum, we aimed to take these pieces on the road and generate new pieces and new modes of presentation. None of us was a trained theatre practitioner; we made it up as we went along. We toured colleges and arts centres around the UK from 1972 -1975.
The founder members of the group were Bernard Rands, Steve Stanton, Roger Marsh, Melody Lovelace, Vic Hoyland, Tom Endrich, Susan Rands, Glyn Perrin, Jonty Harrison, Dominic Muldowney. Others were drafted in from time to time for larger pieces.
